A lovely vignette -- faded vintage flowers on a hand-painted plate. |
Hard to believe we're at the beginning of another year -- actually another decade. What a ride it's been so far! All I can do is be thankful for such an incredible trip I never dreamed of 10 years ago when we purchased our Victorian house in McKinney, TX. Our kids were little and our old house was in need of nearly everything a house could need. Fast-forward to now, our son, Sweet Boy, is preparing to head off to university in the fall and our daughter, Sweet Girl, is a teenager in high school. Our remodeled Victorian now belongs to another fabulous family and we live in a newish house located in the Cascade foothills of western Washington. We've made some incredible friendships from Oklahoma to Texas to Washington, and many places in between. We've been blessed through each of life's road-trips, lane changes, detours, and side trips. So what will the new year and new decade bring? Who knows? But one thing is for sure; joyful living, my zest for junk, and our continued friendships will only grow stronger. In the coming year, I look forward to meeting more new friends, finding more "roads less traveled," searching for long lost junky treasures, and always, always, continuing to write and create.
