SUMMER ROAD-TRIPPIN IN THE PACIFIC NW

L-O-V-E Bridge in beautiful Portland, OR
Hey, Y'all! I recently traveled to the Pacific NW and although I didn't get to stay very long, I did manage to get to some great new vintage shops, a highly touted summer JUNK show, and even got to go to some touristy places too.

Eye-CANDY yumminess at Bungalow Bling, Snohomish, WA
As soon as I recuperated from a long day of air travel, I headed north to the little towns of
M & M Antiques, Monroe, WA
Snohomish and Monroe, WA to visit Bungalow BlingAnnie's On First, Faded Elegance, and M & M Antiques as well as several must-go-to thrift shops. I always manage to find lots of treasures and I love seeing so many junkin' friends.

This time around we planned an extended weekend visit to Portland, OR, but stopped in Sumner, WA on our way to visit Junkers Nest. This new shop is full of adorable vintage treasures, one-of-a-kind repurposed furniture, and many other needful things.

One thing I forgot to take into consideration was traffic on a the I-5 on a Friday afternoon in late July. . .so when we f-i-n-a-l-l-y arrived to the magical

vintage market, Plucky Maidens Junk Fest, the show was in full swing. Our dear friend and Chief Plucky Officer, Pam, is the beauty and brains of this extraordinary show featuring wonderful vendors from WA and OR. Her summer Junk Fest is held at The Oaks Amusement Park along the lovely Willamette River which was the most perfect setting for a summer day of junkin' wonderfulness.

From there we spent a lovely evening at McMenamins Cornelius Pass Roadhouse --which has delicious food, local brews, and live music in an enchanting setting.

Some much needed rain greeted us the next day, but hardly dampened our enthusiasm to see this lovely "City of Roses"(and incredible vintage and antiques shops!!)--PORTLAND!

The following day we meandered through Oregon's lovely wine country toward the Pacific coast and

followed Highway 101 to Long Beach, WA. Luckily, we were able to stay at the Inn at Discovery Coast,

a chic seaside inn with an industrial farmhouse vibe and incredible views.

PLANES, SUVS & PICK-UP TRUCKS--WINTER 2015 JUNKIN ADVENTURES

Hey, Y'all! I know it may seem like I've forgotten to check in here, but it's already been a SUPER BUSY 2015! It seems I've been on the road more than at home. The proof is in the miles...15,000 frequent flyer airline miles, 175,000 miles on my good old SUV "Mattie Mae," and 1,200 miles on my brand new pick-up truck, "Beebee," that we've had for less than a month!
So, suffice it to say if someone could figure out how to type and drive SAFELY I'd be checking in here a lot more often! Here's a peek at my latest adventures--

In the past couple of months I've visited some of my favorite places in the Great Pacific NW.

Upon my arrival back in Texas in February we took a larger space at Brenham's Hermann Antiques Mall where we've had a booth since 2013. The far side front window space went from this--

to this.

I'm really enjoying all the extra room for goodies and the wonderful sunlight from the window. The gorgeous chandelier belongs to my mall neighbor and was in her parents' home. Isn't it lovely?
Just the essence of the 1880s building and this sweet town known for its delicious ice cream and abundant bluebonnets makes it a fun place to work in--also, the fact that items have been selling as fast as I can get them loaded in. (Always a great thing!)
As spring quickly approaches we are getting ready for this weekend's Rusty Chippy Show in Huntsville, TX. This will be our second year to do this fantastic show and we're taking some great vintage porch and garden items to celebrate SPRING! Hope to see you there!

Here's another SURE sign of spring in south central TEXAS-- that's right! TEXAS ANTIQUES WEEK (S) is days away!
Until next time,
Peace, love, and
all the good stuff!
