BIG CITIES, SMALL TOWNS--GREAT FINDS

 Hey, Y'all!
It was a quick paced, junk-as-fast-as-possible kind of trip to the Pacific Northwest recently, but I had a great time catching up with lots of friends, seeing so many inspiring vignettes and shopping like crazy!
My first stop was Children's Hospital Thrift Store in Redmond, WA. Where I found all sorts of good stuff as well as a cool pair of tres chic boots.

Next, I headed over to Monroe, WA where M&M Antiques sits along the main drag chock full of fabulousness!

After I loaded up my treasures from M&M Antiques, I headed down the road to Snohomish, WA. Snohomish is a quaint small town with a vibrant downtown, streets full of gorgeous Victorian cottages,

and a lovely river running near by.
Some favorite shops here include Joyworks, Sweet Bee, Faded Elegance, Annie's on First, and Ruffles and Rust Square.

Common Folk and Haystack Home, both in Kirkland, WA, are not to be missed either! Each of these shops offer gift items, one-of-a-kinds, and awesome finds.
Friday Sweet Hubby and I topped off a great week by heading south toward Portland for the opening of FUNKY JUNK SISTERS JUNK SALVATION in Hillsboro, OR where we found

Then there was the inevitable packing of all my fresh finds and treasures...trying to get it all back to
TEXAS. This has actually become one of my favorite parts of junkin'--LOL--(and the TSA is always very interested in what we've found too!)

And then, before we knew it, we were back on the plane on our way to TEXASI can't wait until our next trip back to the Great Pacific Northwest!

Until next time,
Peace, love, and all the
good stuff, sweet friends.

DEEP IN THE HEART OF TEXAS

Hey, Y'all! I've been putting the miles on my good old SUV, Mattie Mae, driving from Fredericksburg to Brenham with more than a few stops in between. My mom and I recently drove out to the January Fredericksburg Trade Days to see lots of great JuNkIn' friends and their fabulous wares.
Let me tell ya, the stars at night may be big in bright
deep in the heart of Texas, but the chippy,
rusty, and lovingly worn are plentiful deep in
the heart of Texas too.
Garden Antqs Vint now has a permanent space in Barn One at FTD. Here's a few peeks from her
January vignettes. She promises a fun, different look and even more incredible pieces in February!

As we exited Barn One, here's the view we saw...
I'm thinking only in Texas can you shop for
great JuNk and see longhorns at the same time!
As this is the year our sweet girl graduates high school, many of our recent travels include destinations with universities. There's a little less time to JuNk, but there's always time to enjoy a beautiful, warm January day and a walk through a San Marcos park.

In other news, I have finally written the two best words every author loves, "THE END." However, in many ways it's just the beginning of edits and revisions for VINTAGE MURDER The Next Jimmie Rae Flea Market Mystery. Please stay tuned, I'm still planning a spring release date.
When I'm not hitting the JuNkIn' trail, visiting universities with Sweet Girl, or editing VM, I'm usually taking another load of treasures to our booths
We'll also be setting up GARDEN CAT VINTAGE at

JUNK HIPPY ROADSHOW in Rosenberg Feb. 22 and at the

RUSTY, CHIPPY, VINTAGE, HIPPY & GARDEN SHOW in Huntsville March 15 &16.

Next time I'll be sharing pictures from our travels to the lovely Pacific NW.

Until then,
Peace, love, and all
the good stuff, sweet friends!

A GOOD START

Hey, Y'all! In this first week of the new year I've already been JUNKIN' a few times. On New Year's Day I went for a drive on the back-roads between Brenham and Burton. Nothing was open, but it was fun taking the slow way home and seeing the lovely farmhouses, baby calves, and first daffodils. On the second day of the new year, I met up with my sweet friend, Theresa and we headed to Canton for First Monday Trades Days. It was COLD!!

But being the diligent junkers we are, we simply added more layers and shopped. We shopped the fields first and saw all sorts of good stuff, including this inspiring paper skirt. After a few hours in the fields we headed to the Arbors and caught up with Maggie and Lillie. More inspiration for sure!

Love this garden chair with it's cool cushion in

An adorable dresser and chandelier also
found in Maggie and Lillie's booth.
This vignette has me dreaming of spring garden parties.
We stopped at a few more places on the way home until the truck was FULL

After a day of rest, I hit the road again and caught up with Theresa and many other vendors at the Rural Texas Antique Show in Brenham. Here's a peek at what her Garden Antqs Vintage booth looked like. It was gorgeous!
Love the way Garden Antqs Vintage combines rust and ironstone.
And nests and nature...
Cool idea! Metal light in a bird cage--love it!
Garden Antqs Vintage adds a few petite roses to old gloves.
Love the rust and roses!

This cute pink table went home with me!

Yes, I believe 2014 is off to a good start with many more adventures to come!

Until next time,
Peace, love, and all the
good stuff, sweet friends.
